Xin Zhou received his PhD in Entomology at Rutgers University, USA and worked as a postdoc researcher at Biodiversity Institute of Ontario, University of Guelph, Canada. Before joining China Agricultural University, Zhou worked at the BGI for 6 years, as the Executive Director of the China National GeneBank. Zhou is now a Professor at the Department of Entomology, China Agricultural University and a senior PI at Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Food Nutrition and Human Health, National Engineer and Technology Research Center for Fruit and Vegetable Processing. Shiqi Luo 罗诗琦

Shiqi Luo received her PhD in Zoology at Peking University in 2013 and worked as a postdoc researcher at Peking University for three years. Her research interests include population and evolutionary genomics of insects. Using high-throughput sequencing, comparative genomics and molecular biology methods, she hopes to understand the roles of genomic evolution, symbiont genomic evolution and gene regulation by small RNAs, in insect adaptation to diverse environments. Xue Zhang is broadly interested in the symbiosis between microbiome and insects. Particularly she uses DNA technology and omics strategies to explore the origin of symbionts, the homeostasis of symbiotic community and the microbiome interaction with insects, through which, more significantly, she manipulates the symbiotic microbiome to change the function of the hosts. Benfeng Han received her Master degree in plant protection at Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Han will become a PhD student in Zhou lab, co-supervised by Xin Zhou and Xue Zhang, working on gut microbiota of honeybees. She is interested in photography, finding beautiful scenery.
Jiangxing Dong graduated from Henan Normal University and received a Master degree in the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Then he worked at Novogene for 1 year as a bioinformatics analyst, where he mainly studied fish genomics. Dong is now a PhD student in the Zhou lab.

Wei Sun graduated from Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, majoring in plant protection, plant pathology direction. Sun is now a PhD student in Zhou lab supervised by Xin Zhou. Sun is fond of field collecting and traveling . He is working on the interactions between pollinators and pollen derived pathogens.

Changwu Shi graduated from Shandong Agricultural University, majoring in plant protection. He has no particular hobbies, but he can't stop eating delicious durian and cheese. He likes to watch documentaries of the insect world and is deeply interested in the behavior and evolution of social insects. Changwu is supervised by Prof. Shanlin Liu.
Zihan Lin graduated from Southwest University, with a major in agriculture. She is a cat person and keeps a cat named Saner. She really enjoys the life with her cat, which makes her feel relaxed and recharged. She also loves everything to do with art, like drowning in the music, playing the insrtuments, reading the books and so on. Recently she's become strongly obsessed with Hume’s Problems. It is a lot of hard work, but it was worth it. Not only it helps acquire critical thinking skills, but also provides insights to her research project. Most importantly, she enjoys the process in pursing the answers.
